Judo for Beginners

Judo for Beginners

Have fun learning the fundamentals of judo includes injury free falling, eight points of balance, throwing in control, controlling mat techniques, as well as submission holds. Traditions of judo are based on self-respect, respect for others, and respect for property. History lessons begin with the origin up to current activities, including local tournaments, Olympic and other global events. As judo is a life long activity, we encourage all family members to become students. While boys and girls under 7 may enroll, we require a study buddy. The buddy may be a parent, or a responsible friend or sibling, who will help the younger student with the lessons. As education is a priority for this program over athleticism, schoolwork must be completed prior to attending each class or may be completed at the dojo. This course is a prerequisite for CSI competitive judo course offerings.

Since 1959, Magic Valley residents have enjoyed learning judo fundamentals, historical facts, and how to compete in the Olympic sport of judo.
