Idaho Writing Camps in Twin Falls

Idaho Writing Camps nurture the imagination and awaken the senses through creative adventures in the art of writing. The Cabin’s award-winning writing camps offer inspirational experiences for youth going into grades 3-12, as well as adults. AT IDAHO WRITING CAMPS YOU WILL: LEARN from a professional writer who fully understands the creative tools needed to compose great writing. IMMERSE yourself in places and experiences that tap inspiration. FIND a new writing community and other people who share a love of writing. SHARE your writing at the end of your camp session in a public reading. PUBLISH your writing in an Idaho Writing Camps publication. WE INVITE YOU TO EXPLORE, CREATE and DISCOVER – IMAGINE! YOU ARE THE WRITER!
· Word Play (grades 3-4)
Engage in play that stimulates the five senses, sparks creativity and encourages new paths to writing imaginative poems and stories. Students explore nearby parks, go on walks, and visit the museum for inspiration.
This camp runs 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
· Cabin Writers (grades 5-6)
Discover how art, music, and nature inform your imagination. Learn to write stories and poems that are singular, creative and express the thoughts within. Experience writing outdoors, in an art museum, and more.
Students may choose 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 – 4 p.m.
· Urban Ink (grades 7-9)
Explore your town, coffee shops, public art, and urban life. Take a sidewalk trek to inspire scene and character development. Interact with the people and places in your environment while learning to write stories and poetry rooted in observation. This camp runs 1 – 4 p.m.
Parents: Drop-off and pick-up students at CSI, 315 Falls Ave., Shields Building, Rooms # 104 and # 105, Twin Falls. Cost: $165 (non-members), $135 (Cabin members)
