The College of Southern Idaho Community Service Council and six other local sponsors invite everyone to participate in a 5K Mental Health Awareness Fun Run at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26 on the CSI Campus.
According to Community Service Council advisor Mary Christy, the group has arranged for Linda Peterson to address everyone at 9 a.m. right before the event begins. Linda is the mother of Jeret ‘Speedy’ Peterson of Boise, the 2010 Olympic Downhill Aerial Silver Medalist who suffered from major depression for many years before committing suicide in 2011.
There is no entrance fee and no registration. Everyone is welcome to participate. All runners and walkers will receive event T-shirts and refreshments will be available after the race. The race will begin in the parking lot of CSI’s Eldon Evans Expo Center.
