Come to CSI's U-pick garden! 8/23/2017

The U-pick garden at the College of Southern Idaho has been so popular lately that vegetable and berry availability varies day by day, depending on how much ripe produce has been picked on any given day. Generally speaking right now, the garden features tomatoes, onions, green beans, eggplant, lots of jalapenos, yellow peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, and summer squash – all for 75-cents a pound.

Ripening soon will be watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, and winter squash. Apples will also be ready in September. Lots of raspberries are now available for picking at $2 per pound.

Picking times are now 8 to noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. No picking appointments are necessary.

The U-pick garden is located on CSI’s Breckenridge Endowment Farm on North College Road. The CSI Ag Department will provide containers for picking but visitors should bring their own containers for taking berries home. For more information including any updates to picking times or produce availability, please call 732-6401.
