October is here and with it comes all kinds of Halloween hijinks. This year the Faulkner Planetarium gets back in on the fun with a new program offering up Halloween-themed light show. The Ooky Spooky Light Show debuts Tuesday, October 3rd and runs throughout the month culminating in a special evening of Halloween showings.
After a four-year hiatus, Halloween programming returns to the theater with this program produced by Flint, Michigan’s Longway Planetarium. The Ooky Spooky Light Show offers up family fun for all ages. The playlist of songs include: This is Halloween, I Put a Spell On You, Somebody’s Watching Me, Night on Bald Mountain, Ghostbusters, Superstition, Bad Moon Rising, Spirit in the Sky, Monster Mash and Thriller. While your ears feast on these tunes, your eyes will feast on the choreographed visuals filling the planetarium’s 50-foot dome. Wrapped in sound and light you will catch the spirit of the season in no time.
The Ooky Spooky Light Show runs on Tuesdays at 8:00 PM, Fridays at 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00 PM and Saturdays at 2:30, 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00 PM starting October 3rd and running through October 28th. Then on Halloween Day showings will be at 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 PM.
Located in the Herrett Center for Arts and Science on the College of Southern Idaho campus in Twin Falls, ID, the Faulkner Planetarium is the largest planetarium in the state. It has served the public for 22 years and is proud to bring some of the finest fulldome planetarium shows in the world to audiences of south central Idaho.
Admission prices to planetarium shows are $6.00 adults, $5.00 seniors, $4.00 student, including CSI students with a valid student ID; children under age 2 admitted free.
