Time: 1:00 PM to 1:00 PM

Karate and Self Defense Instructor, Jesse Clark, is excited to announce that two Shotokan Karate courses will be offered at the College of Southern Idaho this spring. “This style of Karate is in colleges all over the country and I’m excited to bring it to CSI,” Clark said.

Shotokan Karate of America (SKA) has been teaching traditional Karate in the USA since 1955. SKA was founded by Tsutomu Ohshima who was one of Master Funakoshi’s last direct pupils, studying under him while attending Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Ohshima granted Clark permission to instruct SKA in 2011. Clark, nidan (2nd degree black belt), fought for the USA Team in France in 2014, and in Switzerland in 2017.

Beginning Karate (HACT 112 C01) will run Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:10 – 7 :00 pm and Advanced Karate (HACT 113 C01) will run Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:10 – 8:00 p.m. The classes will last from January 17, through May 9, 2018. Those interested in taking these courses are encouraged to register now on MyCSI or through the Office of the Register located in the Taylor building on the main Twin Falls campus.
