The College of Southern Idaho Horticulture Club is taking orders now for hand-pressed apple cider that club members will begin producing Nov. 10. All the cider will be pressed at the CSI Horticulture greenhouses on the west side of campus. This year’s price is $5.50 per gallon.
Club spokesperson Lea Shanahan says orders can be taken now for cider that can be picked up any time between Nov. 10 and Dec. 23, including orders for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Discounts will be given on orders of five gallons or more. Arrangements can also be made for families to press their own cider at the greenhouse for those who prefer more of a hands-on experience.
Club members will be at CSI’s Harvest Time Festival Nov. 11 through 13 with cider and caramel apple samples and will take orders at the event but will not have containers for sale in the Expo Center.
