The College of Southern Idaho is offering more general education classes available to students in the Idaho Falls area. The classes are designed to allow students more opportunities to get their core credits close to home and at lower community college prices.  Fall classes, which start August 27, include Art History, Cultural Anthropology, Concepts of Biology, Microeconomics, U.S. History, College Algebra, and Elementary Spanish.

“This is a great opportunity for eastern Idaho students who would like to earn some of their basic college credits at home and at a lower cost before going away to a university,” said CSI Instructional Dean Cindy Bond. “Over the course of four semesters, first and second-year college students can earn up to 36 general education credits in Math, Social Science, Humanities, and Science without leaving Idaho Falls and pay far less for them.”

The CSI classes are available at $110 per credit, plus books, and will transfer smoothly to majors at Idaho’s four-year schools. Other core classes in English and Communication are already offered by EITC.

Registration for CSI’s fall semester classes at EITC is under way now. Students are encouraged to contact Elaine Bryant at CSI at 208-732-6461 or at ebryant@csi.edu.
