The College of Southern Idaho Welding Program still has space available for beginning and experienced welders for the spring semester starting Jan. 22.
Introduction to Welding (WELD S004) is a non-credit course is designed for men and women with little to no experience who want to learn the basics of welding. Instructor Dave Martin teaches shop safety procedures and then moves to the basics in SMAW and GMAW welding. The five-week, 30-hour course is held Monday and Wednesday evenings, Feb. 4 through March 13 and again April 8 through May 8. The cost is $225.
Special Welding (WELD S017) is a non-credit course is designed for welders who already have experience and who want to hone their welding skills, earn a qualification, or learn an advanced skill such as stainless steel welding. Groups are welcome. This class will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings for five weeks (30 hours) Feb. 5 to March 14 and again April 9 to May 9. The cost is $225.
CSI welding instructors can also do mobile industry training at your facility or place of business with the CSI mobile welding trailer. The cost is dependent on the number of participants, supplies required, and the time spent in training.
