SUPERSTARS STARTER THEATER CAMP

June 19 – 21

Superstars Starter Theater Camp, a precursor to CSI Junior camp, is designed to introduce your Pre-K and Kindergarten child (ages 3 ½ to 5) to the ropes of theater! The heart of learning is letting a child show what they have learned, and the theater allows children to understand emotions, cooperate, and build relationships. Acting practices give children experiences that build self-confidence, demonstrate refrain, and gain important socio-emotional skills that help throughout life. Classes will include Warm Ups, Stage Presence, Voice Projection, Stage Directions, Theater Vocabulary & Culture, Character Building, Auditions, Memorization, ‘The Show Must Go On’ Techniques, Stage Bows, over 20 Theater games/activities, Songs about Emotions and Cool Downs.

Camp Instructor Tona Casella has been acting, facilitating, or teaching theatre professionally since her debut role at the age of five! Tona studied theatre at CSI and went on to study Theater and Ballet at Utah State. Tona has taught theater, movement and storytelling for preschools, schools, charters and other organizations. Tona teaches to help students focus on confidence, self-worth, strength, and determination.

Cost of the camp is $35. The camp will run from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Monday – Wednesday, June 19-21. There will be a short showcase to show off what the young thespians have learned for parents and friends the last day of camp from 11:15 to 11:30 in the CSI Fine Arts Theatre.
