Alexis Jones may not have won the 2008 ‘Survivor’ season on CBS but being a contestant did prove to be a springboard to a career as a motivational speaker. A Los Angeles-based model with a master’s degree in Communications Management, Jones is the featured speaker at this year’s ‘Change for Children’ fundraiser sponsored by the College of Southern Idaho Student Senate. She will speak at 7 p.m. Friday, April 15 in the CSI Fine Arts Auditorium.
When she’s not on the lecture circuit, Jones is a lifestyle and image consultant and founder of the empowerment organization ‘I Am That Girl.’ Her Twin Falls presentation, said CSI Student Body President Sheree Haggan, will be inspirational, encouraging, and fun for all ages.
Change for Children is an annual fundraiser by the Student Senate to raise money for various individuals and organizations. This year, all proceeds will go to the CSI Refugee Center. This year, the event will be held on two consecutive evenings. At 7 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 16, the program will be a talent show featuring some of the best of local vocalists, dancers, poets, and comedians, including Magic Valley’s Got Talent winner Laura Taylor.
Admission either or both nights will be by donation. Audience members will have a chance to win door and raffle prizes from approximately 100 local businesses both evenings.
