Welcome! The College of Southern Idaho (CSI), a comprehensive community college, and its fifteen (15) community-based partners have developed this project as a part of a larger Health Occupations expansion to build capacity and expand service delivery. This website is intended to be a general overview and information resource.
Demand Driven Partnerships:
In 2020, the Bureau of Heath Professions estimates that the Idaho workforce will have a -59.10% nursing shortage. Current Idaho Department of Commerce and Labor and 2005 Workforce Investment Board Healthcare Employer Survey data
indicate that there are shortages and vacancies in the following nursing occupations: RNs 20%, LPNs 16%, CNAs 70%.
All three occupations are identified by Idaho Department of Commerce and Labor as High Growth and High Demand occupations.
Employers’ projected labor needs within the next five years are four times current graduation rates for LPNs and five times
current graduation rates for RNs.

Quality Comes First—CSI students have consistently scored higher on the NCLEX—RN and NCLEX—PN first time pass rate than the national average.
The Power of Rural Partnerships project is funded in part (68%) by a grant awarded under the President’s Community-Based Job Training Grants, as implemented by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration.
