This course provides practical hands-on application of manual machine processes including; drilling, tapping, milling, filing, and grinding applied to the study of material and process manufacturing. This course provides the students with the knowledge for lab operation of machining special attachments, bench work, layout, heat treating, hardness testing, layout inspection, jig and fixture setup, and tool design. This is an introductory course into machining. Prerequisites: MATH 025, MATH 108 or higher compass or ACT placement score or instructor's permission.
