Important Notice!
In order to improve the convenience and user-friendliness of our registration processes, starting the Summer 2008 semester new (first semester) students at the College of Southern Idaho will be able to register online during open registration periods. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor prior to registering for courses. New, current, and returning students can all register online through MyCSI. Students who do not yet a PIN, may need to retrieve their PIN before being able to register online.
Students registering for courses online are highly encouraged to pursue advising services for the following reasons:
Educational Advising. Major advisors provide assistance to students in the selection of a declared major and appropriate courses leading to a degree or certificate. Students are also advised on the order in which they should take those classes in order to be most successful and minimize time to degree/certificate completion. The Advising Center (http://advising.csi.edu/index.asp) provides educational advising to first semester students, Liberal Arts majors, students who are still deciding on a declared major, and non-degree seeking students. Current students are advised to discuss their educational plans with their major advisors (http://www.csi.edu/coursesAndPrograms_/courses.html) before registering for courses.
Course Placement Interpretation. Major advisors provide assistance to students with appropriate course placement in order to determine course prerequisites, program entry requirements, and the enhancement of student educational success.
Support Assistance. Major advisors provide referral assistance to connect students with various program offerings and student support programs.
