Current Employees (Faculty/Staff/Administration)

In general all full-time employees automatically have a CSI account created by their first official date of employment (there are only a few exceptions).  With their CSI accounts, current CSI employees will be able to access a variety of resources and systems, including the CSI network, MyCSI, e-mail, EagleMail (optional), Blackboard, online library services, online course evaluations, online voting, etc. How long do accounts remain active? CSI accounts become inactive the last day of employment with the College. All instructors teaching credit courses (both full-time and part-time) receive CSI accounts. Continuing Education instructors do NOT receive CSI accounts.  Only a few part-time employees receive CSI accounts and generally have specific work requirements qualifying them of an account (e.g. HR Department or Department Chair approves these). Office on Aging, Head Start, Star, Boys and Girls Club, Refugee Center employees do not receive CSI accounts.  

  • Full-time employees are notified of their CSI username and password by their supervisors.      
  • Your CSI username is generally your first initial and your last name (e.g. Jane Doe’s username would be jdoe.  Few exceptions in cases where someone else already has that same username.)  
  • Your CSI default password (full-time employees) is generally randomly assigned and communicated to the supervisor.
  • Your CSI default password (part-time faculty) is your eight digit date of birth (until you change it)
    • Example 1: John Q. Public, born April 30, 1990.
      • username: jpublic
      • default password: 04301990
    • Example 2: Sylvia T. Broccoli, born February 8, 1985.
      • username: sbroccoli
      • default password: 02081985
    • IMPORTANT
      • We strongly encourage you to change your default password as soon as possible to a secret password that you only know and can remember but others cannot guess (generally a combination of upper and lower case letters and numbers). Keep your password secret. Treat your password with as much care as the information it protects. Never share your password with others or write it down and store it in places where others can access it.
        • How do you change your password? Employees can change their CSI passwords online.
        • Employees are required to change their passwords every 180 days. Several warnings are issued through Webmail.
        • If you changed your password and forgot it, you will need to contact the CSI Computing Help Desk and they will re-set your password.  The CSI Computing Help Desk will not re-set your password unless they can successfully verify your identity.
  • For security and privacy reasons it is very important that you always log out after using any of our systems.

Important Note on Blackboard Logins:

  • Faculty and staff Blackboard accounts are automatically created within an hour of instructors creating their Blackboard courses using the CSI Webtools sytem.
  • Faculty/staff Blackboard usernames and passwords are the same as their CSI usernames/passwords.
