Faculty Senate Executive Committee Chair Person
Job Description
(Revised Fall 2000)
- Conduct both Executive Committee meetings and Faculty Forum Meetings.
- Complete schedule for Tuesday meetings for the calendar year and send to all faculty and administration. (Note: send copies to Kathy Deahl and Shonna Parsons first.)
- 1st Tuesdays: Department Meetings
- 2nd Tuesdays: Faculty Senate Executive Committee Meetings
- 3rd Tuesdays: College-wide Committees
- 4th Tuesdays: All-Faculty Forum
- Schedule Taylor Building Conference Room for Executive Meetings.
- Schedule Fine Arts Building or Aspen Buildingfor Faculty Forum Meetings.
- Determine agenda for Executive Committee meetings and send with meeting notice to members by Thursday of previous week.
- Determine agenda for Faculty Forum in conjunction with other members of Faculty Executive Committee and send with meeting notice to all Faculty by Thursday of week prior to meeting.
- Schedule Faculty Executive Committee members to attend the college Board of Trustees meeting on the 3rd Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Usually two members are scheduled for each meeting. (Note: call the Administrative Assistant to the President to confirm how many faculty will attend the board meeting.)
- Act as liaison between administration and Faculty Forum - inviting members of the administration to speak at Faculty Forum meetings regarding issues of concern.
- Review minutes of Executive Committee and Faculty Forum authorizing Scribe/Secretary to send to committee members and/or all faculty. Minutes are e-mailed respectively to committee members and all faculty. Hard copies need to be forwarded to President, Vice President of Instruction, Dean of Instruction, Library (2), and one copy kept by the Secretary/Scribe and filed in the Faculty Senate big book.
- Keep copies of all minutes, both executive committee and Faculty Forum.
- Update the Faculty Handbook when needed and upload to the CSI webserver (which houses the most current version of the Handbook).
