ADC - Adult Basic Education

Overview

The Adult Basic Education Program is designed to improve the educational level of adults, out-of-school youth and non-English speaking persons in our eight-county service area. Our program recognizes the worth and importance of the individual who has less than a high school education and the need for community-based instruction.

Description

The Adult Basic Education program provides services in a campus-based learning center and three outreach centers as well as in community-based sites in the South Central Idaho region. Services include instruction in basic skills: reading, writing, and computation, as well as GED and high school equivalency preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL) and citizenship. Eligible students are adults seeking to prepare for life, work, or post-secondary education with skill levels below the college level.

Why Adult Basic Education?

There are many reasons to return to school: preparing for and/or taking your GED, improving basic skills, upgrading skills for work, or obtaining a better job. All that's required is taking that first step. How quickly you reach your goals will depend upon how much effort you put into achieving them. We're here to help you do that. There is no charge to students for these programs.
