The gymnasium consists of 3 regulation basketball courts and 4 volleyball courts.
We offer free and machine weights, 3 treadmills, 4 elliptical machines, a number of bikes and two stair steppers.
We have 4 locker rooms, a large training room, 2 concession stands, 2 classrooms, 2 racquetball courts and a large aerobics room.
The staff can perform a number of fitness and health test including body composition (skin fold and biological impedance). Strength and flexibility and blood pressure equipment is also available. For more information: contact Jaime Tigue or Justin Minden.
1. Food and drinks are not allowed in the weight room or on the gym floor.
2. No skateboards, roller blades, bicycles or other such sports equipment may be used in the building or on outside walkways and ramps.
3. All children under the age of 13 are not allowed in the weight room or on the gym floor. Children over 13 need to be accompanied by an adult. This requires the parent or guardian to participate with the underage child at all times.
4. CSI sponsored activities (academic classes, athletic practices/events, intramural events and community classes) take priority over general exercise and recreation. Occasionally, certain areas of the Fitness Center may be closed to general use.
5. An extra pair of shoes must be carried into the Fitness Center for use in all areas of the facility. Shoes must be changed before using any activity area. There is NO exception to this rule.
6. Proper attire is: t-shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts, athletic shorts and sweatpants.
7. Anyone not adhering to these policies may be asked to leave the building and/or lose their privileges to use the Fitness Center. The Facility Coordinator will make such decisions when necessary.
(Back to top)1. A Fitness Center Staff member, on safety and proper care of the equipment, must train Fitness Center members who wish to make use of the weight room. No one is allowed in the weight room without this training.
2. No child under the age of 12 is permitted in the weight room at any time. An adult must accompany children over the age of 12.
3. Everyone who uses the equipment must wipe down the machines and benches immediately after use.
4. A spotter is required when using the free weight equipment.
5. Free weights and dumbbells should never be placed on upholstered benches or other equipment. Do not “drop” weight plates. Weights should not be thrown or dropped on benches or on the floor. Please put everything back in its proper place, weights, plates or collars are not to be moved from their assigned locations.
6. No outdoor footwear (even athletic shoes worn outdoors) or shoes that cause marks, are not allowed in the weight room.
7. Please feel free to ask the supervisor on duty any questions concerning the equipment.
(Back to top)1. The Fitness Center provides protective eyewear that MUST be worn at all times while playing racquetball. If you prefer, you may bring your own eye guards.
2. A parent or legal guardian must accompany children under 14.
3. Racquetball courts may be reserved up to one week in advance.
4. Reserved playing time is limited to one-hour blocks per day. An exception to this rule is made when a block of time is open.
5. For Volleyball set-up, a court must be reserved in advance and notification must be given for court set-up.
You must bring your current I.D. card each time you come
to the Fitness Center. Without it, you cannot use the facilities.
All people interested in a Fitness Center membership will need to make an
appointment for an orientation interview with Justin Minden (732-6484). An interview will be scheduled and the proper
paperwork will be filled out at that time. Anyone signing up for memberships over the age of 16 will fill out
an application and receive the rules to the facility. Identification will be required at that time.

Whenever the College Of Southern Idaho students are off campus for holidays, the Fitness Center opens to the Community for extended hours. These holidays will be advertised as they approach.
