COURSE NUMBER: PHYE 117
SEMESTER HOURS: 1 Cr.
TITLE: Beginning Golf
Gym - Candleridge Golf Course
2097 Candleridge Road
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Designed for the beginning player to acquire or improve his/her knowledge and fundamental skills in golf. Instruction includes rules and etiquette.
PRE-REQUISITES:
Golf clubs are required, however some clubs are available on request. Three-dollar range ball and five-dollar playing fees are required on appropriate days.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1.) To teach the student
the basic fundamentals of golf; proper grip, stance, swing, chipping, and putting.
2.) The student will
be taught the rules of golf, and golfing etiquette.
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES:
1.) Required attendance
unless person is sick, injured or has special circumstances.
2.) Class meets 4
hr. per week for 8 weeks.
3.) Grading will
be judged on attendance and a student's willingness to participate.
OUTCOMES:
1.) Through practice and
drill work, students will perform the individual assessment skills necessary
to progress their abilities in golf.
2.) Through demonstration
and participation, the students will learn the proper techniques of the grip,
swing, putting, and chipping.
3.) A presentation
of the rules and etiquette will help the student to acquire an appreciation
for the game of golf.

1.) Attendance.
