COURSE DESCRIPTION:

1.  Instruction and participation in the skills and techniques of Karate using the teaching methods of Tai Kung Fu and Wu Wei Gung Fu.
2.  Pre-requisites: none
3.      Supplies: loose fitting clothing or work out clothes.  Groin cup for men.
4.      Attendance: The student may be excused with prior permission from instructor.  Three unexcused absences will be cause for dropping the student.

Hours of instruction each week: 2

Required Assignments: Class participation.

5.      Expected Outcomes: The student should expect to achieve an increase in awareness of self-defense.  they should gain knowledge of the martial arts as a lifetime sport.  At the end of the semester they should have the necessary techniques to test for the yellow belt.  Yellow belt testing is not necessary for grad however.  The student should have a basic grasp of the philosophy inherent in the arts.
6.      Grading: Grade will be based on attendance and class participation.  Belt test is not a requirement for grade.

c.       Basic Kicking
d.      Blocking
e.       Striking with the hand
f.        Traditional history and philosophy of the arts
g.       Basic Self Defense for grabs, chokes, punches and kicks
h.       Traditional Kata
