What You
Need:
Sample of a Solid:
The choice of sample size depends mainly on how much you have and how soluble it is in the NMR solvent. About 50 mg (.05 g) is convenient for Proton
NMR, although considerably less (or more) may be used. Time is usually the deciding factor because small samples take more time. About 100 mg is typically needed
to obtain a routine Carbon spectrum in a short length of time (ca. 5
min.).
