Inserting the Sample Tube in the Probe

 

A SAMPLE SITTING IN THE DEPTH GAUGE READY TO BE INSERTED IN THE PROBE

 

(Note:  This is not a good place to leave the fragile glass tube because it can break if someone bumps against it while working in the sample compartment.  Several tubes have been broken in this way.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Inserting the Sample Step 1

 

 

Wipe the spinner and tube again

 

 

 

Inserting the Sample Step 2

 

 

Be sure to push Eject Button and
remove the previous sample

 

 

 

 

Hold sample tube near top as

shown for insertion or removal.

Make sure spinner is off

(lever up)

 

 

Inserting the Sample Step 4

 

Push button IN – Place sample in probe

Then pull button OUT (reverse of step 2)

 Sample will sink into probe

Turn spinner on

(lever down)

 

CLOSE THE SAMPLE COMPARTMENT

Check with flashlight to make

sure the tube is spinning
