OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
- Plug the power cord in, turn the power switch on, and set the Power Control
Knob to obtain the desired heating rate at the anticipated melting range.
Use the heating rate charts below to select the correct voltage to obtain
the desired heating rate at the melting range. Optimum heating rate for
most samples is 1-2 degrees per minute at the meling point.
THERMOMETERS-
The thermometer is manufactured expressly for use in the MEL-TEMP Capillary
Melting Point Apparatus. Do
not use a different thermometer.

The
Power Control Knob controls the amount of heat reaching the sample and
the rate at which the temperature increases.The
graphs shown below show the results of having the knob set at various power
levels.
