Assistance League of Boise, Grant for the Hearing Impaired
Assistance League of Boise provides tuition/textbook educational grants for graduating, hearing impaired, Idaho high school seniors or continuing higher education student who resides in Ada County. The grants are conditioned upon the recipient’s enrollment at an accredited two of four-year college, university, vocational institution, beauty college, or school of the arts in the United States. Our selection committee determines the number and amounts of the ward after examining all applications received. Maximum amount of the grant is $2000. Students will be able to obtain this information by contacting the Assistance League of Boise Project Hearing and leaving a message.

Idaho School for the Deaf and the Blind Foundation Scholarship
The Idaho School for the Deaf and the Blind Foundation will be awarding a 500.00 dollar scholarship to a Deaf/Hard of Hearing student and another 500.00 scholarship to a Visually Impaired/Blind student graduating high school this year. Immune Deficiency Foundation
The Immune Deficiency Foundation awards scholarships to undergraduate students living with primary immune deficiency diseases. IDF is honored to assist students who have lived with the challenges of primary immune deficiencies and plan on completing their secondary education. THE 2008 PAUL G. HEARNE/AAPD LEADERSHIP AWARDS
Up to two people with disabilities, who are emerging as leaders in the cross-disability civil rights movement, will each receive $10,000 to help them continue their progress as leaders. They will also have an opportunity to meet and network with national disability leaders at the AAPD Leadership Gala in Washington, DC in March 2008. U.S. residents with any type of disability are eligible to apply. To be considered for a Paul G. Hearne/AAPD Leadership Award, a candidate must complete an application which includes a statement of no more than 1000 words that addresses all of the selection criteria, as well as a letter of commitment from his/her mentor or supportive colleague who is prepared to work with the applicant in pursuing his/her leadership goals.

The Jeannette Rankin Foundation
The Jeannette Rankin Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for, and awarding grants to, low-income women, ages 35 and older. Each grant recipient has a vision of how a college education will benefit herself, her family, and her community. Most recipients are in truly meager financial circumstances and may have other hardships or disabilities. OBJECTIVES: Each year, the sponsor awards grants to low-income women who have a vision of how their education will benefit themselves, their families, and their communities. Since 1978, the Jeannette Rankin Foundation has awarded scholarships to help over 500 women attend college. The application cycle for the 2008 school year has closed. Applications for the 2009 school year will be available on this site starting November 1, 2008. ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be: female, at least thirty-five years of age as of March 1, 2007; U.S. citizens and pursuing a technical/vocational degree, an associate's degree, or a first bachelor's degree; and enrolled or accepted in an accredited school and have limited financial means.

Yellow Ribbon Scholarship
In 2008 the Yellow Ribbon Scholarship will award $5,000 to an undergraduate or graduate travel and tourism or hospitality student with a physical or sensory disability (as defined by the ADA, 1990), who is a permanent resident of the United States or Canada. The student must be enrolled at an accredited two-or four-year college or university in the United Sates or Canada. This scholarship was established by entertainer Tony Orlando in 1993. The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5, or greater. Be an undergraduate student enrolled in a tourism-specific program or area of focus or a hospitality program with a focus on travel and tourism; or be a graduate student who can demonstrate a clear focus on and commitment to the tourism-subject area.
