Eligibility Criteria for ASCSI Senate and Officers

The election of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and sophomore senators (26 or more credits) shall be held the second week of March during the spring semester. The remaining freshmen senators (25 or less credits) shall be elected before the fifth week following the commencement of the fall semester.

In order to be elected or appointed to an executive office or senate position, a student must be carrying a minimum of 12 credits and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5. In case of a first semester freshman, a minimum high school G.P.A. of 2.5 or equivalent is required as well as carrying a minimum of 12 college credits.

To be eligible to run for the office of President or Vice President, a student must have served a parliamentary position. “Parliamentary position” shall be interpreted as having served one full semester in the Senate at the College of Southern Idaho and/or any other college or university, or other accredited parliamentary leadership organization.

To maintain a position on the Student Senate, a student must successfully complete 12 credits and maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average each semester.
