Horticulture Club

The CSI Horticulture Club is one of the most active and visible clubs on campus and in the community. The Horticulture students, and their advisor- Dave Kiesig, are involved extensively in numerous projects and activities throughout the Magic Valley. The Horticulture Club, through annual spring and fall sales of their ‘Golden Eagle Guano Brand’ fertilizer, has established its’ own CSI Foundation scholarship endowment for future Horticulture students. The club is well known for their annual corn maze and fresh-pressed apple cider. They annually participate in “60 Hours to Fight Hunger”, “Christmas in the Nighttime Sky”, “Toys for Tots”, and adopt at least one needy family in the Magic Valley for Christmas each year. Their community service projects include Christmas Lights in City Park, public fruit tree pruning workshops in the spring, planting bitter brush with the Department of Fish and Game, and participation in Arbor Day celebrations. CSI Horticulture Club members take their campus and community involvement seriously but what they like best is “working with plants and playing in the dirt.”
