About CND
The Center for New Directions (CND) was established in 1980 as the pilot Displaced Homemaker Program for the state of Idaho. In 1984,
additional sources of funding have enabled the CND to expand to serve all community and college populations desiring career and education
planning services.
For over 25 years our staff of professional counselors has provided quality counseling and career development services with the purpose
of helping participants explore options, make their own choices and improve their lives.
Growth of the college determined a need for change in the focus and funding of the CND at the beginning of the Fall Semester 2006.
The mission of the CND was refocused to serve the Professional-Technical students and a Career and Counseling Service was created to focus
on college students needing career and personal counseling. The Career and Counseling Service is located in the Taylor Administration
Building, Room 272.
The CND offices are located in Canyon 105.
Who "CND" Grants Assist...
| HOMEMAKER: |
A person seeking full-time employment outside of the home and is enrolled in a Professional-Technical program at CSI. |
| SINGLE PARENT: |
An unemployed or underemployed person who is responsible for a dependent in the home. |
| DISPLACED HOMEMAKER: |
A person who must seek training or paid employment outside of the home due to separation, divorce, widowhood, or disability of spouse. |
| NONTRADITIONAL OCCUPATION: |
A person entering a nontraditional training program or occupation. |
| PROFESSIONAL/TECHNICAL STUDENT: |
A student enrolled in the Professional Technical Divisions at CSI who meet above criteria. |
