Library Mission: To provide information resources and services that meet the needs of the College community and support the teaching, lifelong learning, and service functions of the College.

Collections

We collect materials in all media to support the community college curriculum
60,000 books	2,400 videos
350 magazine, journal, and newspaper subscriptions	30 online databases
Maps and atlases	Pamphlets

Check-Out Privileges & Loan Periods

The library is open to all visitors for reference use. Currently registered students, CSI faculty, and staff have borrowing privileges. Any adult who is a permanent resident of the Magic Valley may purchase a one-year courtesy card at the front desk.

Reference books and magazines may be used only in the Library.

Books (Main, Large, & Fiction)	1 month	Limit: 5 on one subject
eBooks (NetLibrary)	All titles can be viewed directly online Register for a free account to "check out" books: Newest titles can be "checked out" for 6 hours; Other recent titles can be "checked out" for 24 hours	Limit: 4 open at a tiime
Audiobooks (NetLibrary)	Downloading a title allows access to it on your computer or portable device for 21 days; make "renewals" by logging onto your account	Limit: 6
Videos	Overnight or over the weekend	Limit: 2
Compact Discs	2 weeks	Limit: 3
Pamphlets & Maps	1 week	Limit: 5 on one subject

Limit: 10 items total

Interlibrary Loan Service

What is it?	A system for borrowing books and obtaining copies of magazine and journal articles from other libraries
Who can use it?	Registered CSI students, CSI staff and faculty, and Courtesy Card holders
How do I use it?	Send your requests by email to: interlibraryloan@csi.edu
How do I use it?	Come to the Library and ask in person
How much does it cost?	CSI students and staff: No processing fee, except for Rush requests
How much does it cost?	Courtesy card holders: Any fees charged by the libraries that we borrow from, plus Rush fees

What will my donation be used for?	The annual interest allows us to buy additional materials, such as books, online subscriptions, CDs, and DVDs for the benefit of all.

Reserves

What are they?	Any supplementary items that instructors want their students to use: books, articles, videos, CDs, etc. (even a model skeleton)
	The Library offers current state tax forms, with instructions
Where are they?	At the Check-Out Desk and online
How can I use them?	At the Check-Out Desk	Ask for them by the course name or the instructor's name Most have to be used in the Library Some can go out overnight
