The Shields Academic building was named for one of CSI's founding
board members, J.H. Shields of Buhl. The 50-thousand square foot,
two story building was part of the first phase of CSI's construction
in 1968 and remains today as it was upon completion that year. The
Shields features four amphitheater style classrooms on the main
floor, four large labs on the second floor in addition to a new
computer lab, 21 classrooms and 26 faculty offices.
