Mark Neiwirth, a native of Kimberly, went on to establish an international reputation as soloist, chamber musician, teacher, adjudicator and arranger. Mark will cherish performing at CSI again, because he presented his high school senior recital there in 1975. Concert tours have taken him to Europe, South Africa and India, as well as dozens of venues in the United States. He has performed more than thirty concerti with orchestras around the country and was an annual soloist with the Sun Valley Symphony for sixteen years. He received the prestigious Idaho Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts in 2018. His CSI program includes Thom Ritter George’s Third Piano Sonata, which was composed for Mark in 1989. Also on the program are his long-time favorites, the Three Concert Etudes by Franz Liszt. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Piano at Idaho State University since 2005.
