Student Profile: Lance Teske

CSI Communication Major

Where is your hometown?

I am from Twin Falls, Idaho.

How has your experience at CSI been so far and how you feel it is preparing you for the future?

CSI has helped me take a huge step up in my education. I’ve learned more in the last year at CSI than I did my entire high school career. The opportunities they offered me have given me valuable experiences that can’t be replaced.

What does your schedule look like on a busy day?

My busiest days would have to be Thursdays. They look something like this:

  • 08:00 a.m. - Breakfast
  • 09:30 a.m. - Intercultural Communication Class
  • 11:00 a.m. - Intro to Mass Communication Class
  • 12:30 p.m. - Lunch with Fiancé
  • 02:00 p.m. - Intercouncil Meeting for Student Senate
  • 05:00 p.m. - Work
  • 09:00 p.m. - Dinner and Homework

What are some things you like to do in your free time?

I like to play basketball, work out at the CSI Student Recreation Center, read books, and swim in the Snake River which is only minutes away from campus.

What is a piece of advice you would give to new CSI students?

You should look for and apply for as many scholarships as early as you can. It’s good to know that it’s ok to experiment a little in college. Don't be afraid to try new things, take different classes, be curious and recreate yourself. Education is about more than A's and B's, it's about learning and gaining experience.
