Dean Pate

Barry Pate
Barry Pate
Dean of Career and Technical Education
Office: Taylor 252b

A Message from Barry

As Dean of Career and Technical Education at CSI, I strive to continue the College’s philosophies of outcomes-based and student-centered learning. I believe that reaching those in the Southern Idaho community who are under-educated and under-employed will help them gain skills to meet industry need and find jobs with good wages, benefits, and working environments, which will raise the standard of living for the community.

Bio

Dr. Barry Pate received a Bachelor of Science in 2000 from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. in Animal Science from Utah State University in 2006. He has been with CSI since 2007, first as an instructor, then an Agriculture Department Chair for three years, and has been a dean since July 2018. Barry was raised in Massachusetts and lived in the Eastern United States until he went to college. Outside CSI, Barry loves spending time with his beautiful wife and six children.

Dean of Career and Transfer Education
Office: Taylor 252a

A Message from Tiffany

As Dean of General and Transfer Education, one of my primary goals is to be an advocate for students and faculty who embrace the mission and goals of general education.  In general education we strive to create educational experiences that will enrich all areas of a student’s life.  Family, community, employment, and personal enrichment goals can all be met with a strong foundation in general education, and it is a pleasure to be part of that process.  Our transfer students then take that background and move on to our four-year partners set up for additional success in all those areas as well.  My favorite part of this job is working with our amazing faculty and students to create environments where they can achieve a definition of success that is flexible, adaptable, and ready to take on any challenge.

Day to day, it is my pleasure to work with the General and Liberal Studies Department, the Mathematics Department, the Biology Department, the Social Science and Communication Department, the Engineering, Physical, and Computer Sciences Department, the Education Department, the English, Language and Philosophy Department, and the Visual & Performing Arts Department.

Bio

Tiffany Seeley-Case was raised on a farm and ranch outside of Ashton, Idaho and attended North Fremont High School as a proud member (and class Valedictorian) of her 32-person graduating class. She attended Boise State University to compete on the Talkin’ Broncos Speech and Debate team and will be forever grateful for the opportunities that speech and debate programs have provided in her life.  She graduated from Boise State University in 1996 as a Top Ten Scholar with a BA degree in Communication/English (and a minor in political philosophy) and again in 1999 with a MA in Curriculum and Instruction.

Tiffany holds secondary teaching certifications in Communication, English, Journalism, Political Science, and Philosophy.  She spent one year teaching at Nampa High School before joining the faculty at the College of Southern Idaho in 1997 to teach in the Communication Department and assist with coaching speech and debate at CSI.

In her career at CSI, Tiffany has directed the Speech and Debate Team as well as the Honors Program while teaching a full slate of courses in the Communication program focusing on rhetoric, public speaking, argumentation, and critical thinking.  In 2017 she agreed to chair the Social Science and Communication Department and in 2019 moved into the role of Dean of General and Transfer Education.

When not at CSI, Tiffany, along with her husband Des and son Parker, enjoy traveling, reading, cooking, and spending as much time as possible back on the farm in Ashton.

Jayson Lloyd
Jayson Lloyd
Dean of Health Sciences and Human Services
Office: HSHS 106

A Message from Jayson

As Dean of Health Science and Human Services, my primary focus is to support the faculty and staff who deliver high quality education to our students. By so doing, students can purse their goals, whether it be finding a job in health care, preparing themselves to transfer to pursue advanced degrees, or bettering themselves by mastering skills and learning about health and well-being. In addition to facilitating our students’ self-improvement, I also enjoy partnering with local businesses and industry to create programs that bring new healthcare skills and knowledge to the Magic Valley and Idaho. I am proud to be a part of CSI and am constantly amazed by the talent and skills demonstrated by so many on our campus.

Bio

Jayson Lloyd was born and raised in Twin falls, Idaho. Proud graduate of Twin Falls High School, Jayson completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology by attending Utah State University and Brigham Young University. Soon after completing his bachelor’s degree, Jayson began working full-time in Brigham Young University’s Harold B. Lee Library while working on his Master’s Degree in Zoology. His master’s degree involved conducting research on the nesting habitat of the Mountain Plover.

Following completion of his master’s degree in 2000, Jayson began working at CSI as a visiting instructor to cover for faculty on sabbatical leave. His stint as a visiting instructor turned into a full-time math instructor appointment, teaching developmental math for the College while teaching biology courses during summers.

After three years of math instruction, Jayson began teaching full-time in the CSI Biology Department. From 2003 to 2007, Jayson taught a variety of biology courses for the Department and eventually was designated lead instructor for the Human Anatomy and Physiology course sequence. In 2007, Jayson was chosen to serve as the Biology Department Chair. While serving as Department Chair, Jayson continued teaching biology courses. In 2015, Jayson was appointed to serve as the Dean of Health Science Human Service, where he serves today.

Jayson is a staunch believer in the power of education. In 2021 he completed his Ed.D. in Education Leadership. His doctoral research involved investigating the phenomenon of incivility in nursing education. In addition to actively pursuing his own education, Jayson seeks to promote education at all levels. Consequently, he has served as a Trustee for the Twin Falls Public School District since 2020.

In his attempt to be a “Renaissance man,” Jayson enjoys tennis, snowboarding, singing, guitar, piano, poorly performed amateur magic tricks, and geeky science fiction and fantasy books.
