Mark Edwards "A Hard Rain" keynote address 4/28/2010
Time: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

The issues faced by mankind in the 21st Century will be clear, sometimes with startling clarity, when author and photojournalist Mark Edwards is featured in the College of Southern Idaho’s Eagle View Lecture series at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 28.

Edwards was inspired in 1969 by Bob Dylan’s song “A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall” and began using his photography skills to document human rights abuses, environmental degradation, the waste of precious resources, and climate change. His photography exhibits and presentations, for which he has won numerous awards, have been seen by millions throughout the world. His address, “Hard Rain: Poverty, Human Rights, and the Environment,” is designed to show not only the suffering but to help audiences join in the resilience, ingenuity, and hope of making changes.

Edwards’ appearance is sponsored by the CSI Honors Program and Associated Students of CSI and is free and open to the public. It will be held in the CSI Fine Arts Auditorium.
