The College of Southern Idaho’s Academic Standing Policy derives from the success of students in their courses. Pictured below is the process by which academic standing is determined.
Students should strive to remain in Good Academic Standing by keeping a cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or higher. In situations where that minimum is not met, students have the opportunity to review the policy and gain knowledge on identifying reasons for the drop and resources that can assist in raising the GPA back to Good Academic Standing.
The official policy can also be found in the CSI Catalog.

- At any point when the student cumulative GPA rises to a 2.0 or higher, the student achieves Good Academic Standing
- The 2.0 cumulative GPA is a CSI benchmark for graduation and federal financial aid eligibility
Academic Warning

- A registration hold is placed on the student's CSI record until the student completes an online activity
Academic Probation

- Students must sit out one semester, excluding summer. The assigned Student Success Advisor will conduct an exit interview and inform the student of resources available during their required break and discuss their re-entry plan
- Students may appeal to be re-instated with provisional status
- After sitting out one semester, the student may re-enroll under a Plan for Academic Student Success (PASS) with a Student Success Advisor
- If the term GPA falls below 2.0, the student is required to sit out one semester excluding summer.
