Crystal Ayers has been part of the College of Southern Idaho for 16 years, helping students build skills that carry far beyond the classroom.
Her path into teaching started during her own time as a student. After helping classmates understand a business concept, she realized she loved breaking things down in a way that clicked for others. That moment pushed her toward becoming a business educator.
Today, she teaches courses like Personal Finance and Business Communications, where students learn how to budget, make smart financial decisions, and communicate professionally. Skills they can use right away in their everyday lives.
“What I appreciate most about our students is their determination. Many are balancing school, work, and family while working toward something better.”
One thing you might not expect, Crystal was once considered an “at risk” student. After her first semester, she made the dean’s list. Her perspective is simple. Not knowing you are supposed to fail can sometimes be what helps you succeed.
Outside of CSI, she enjoys traveling, working out, and taking time away from the noise.
