Meet Spencer! A CSI alum with a degree in HVAC, he’s worked on everything from chillers and air handlers to data centers. Now he’s back at CSI teaching ISMT and the Maintenance Tech Apprenticeship programs.
Spencer says the best part of teaching is breaking down what he’s done his whole life into something new students can understand. He’s always ready to help — whether that’s extra time in class, phone calls, or emails.
Outside of work, Spencer and his wife just welcomed a baby boy! He also enjoys amateur radio, exploring national parks, and once toured INL’s Advanced Test Reactor where he saw Cherenkov radiation in action.
His advice for students: “Keep trying. This field may not be for everyone, but it’s incredibly rewarding.”
