Course Level Assessment

Course level assessment is coordinated within individual departments by department chairs who work with faculty to develop appropriate student learning outcomes, conduct annual assessments, and implement continuous improvements to courses. The Teaching and Learning Center assists departments in continuous improvements at the course level.

Instructors should work with department chairs, mentors, or liaisons to understand elements of assessment that are common to all sections of a course (i.e., final exams, assignments, required textbooks, and assessment practices). Courses for which prescribed course assessment information exists (common final exams, common course projects, etc.) are tracked in the College’s Curriculum Management system. These assessments can be located by contacting Department Chairs and are modified using the Curriculum Committee process.
