TWIN FALLS – The College of Southern Idaho will have two commencement ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday, May 11, in the CSI Gym to accommodate the number of people who wish to come and watch their family and friends graduate. At the 10 a.m. ceremony, graduates from the following majors will be honored:
CSI’s longest serving employee, Jim Woods will be the keynote speaker at the 10 a.m. ceremony. Woods joined CSI as the Director of the Herrett Center for Arts and Science in 1975 and eventually became Assistant Professor and then Professor of Anthropology. He has been a key figure in dozens of grants for traveling exhibits and was directly involved in three major Herrett Center fundraising projects. Woods plans to retire from CSI this year in July. For those who are unable to attend the ceremony in person, a live broadcast will begin at 9:45 a.m. at https://youtu.be/E65N6Q_P00Y.
The 4 p.m. ceremony will honor graduates from the remaining majors:
Idaho Superintendent of the Year in 2013 and CSI graduate Wiley Dobbs will be the keynote speaker for the 4 p.m. ceremony. After 34 years of service to Idaho students, Dobbs retired last year to spend time traveling with his wife Kristina. He still serves as a regional coordinator for Idaho Digital Learning and is a mentor for new principals. For those who are unable to attend the ceremony in person a live broadcast will begin at 3:45 p.m. at https://youtu.be/Mif1_r0TOeA.
A free, public reception for the graduates and their family and friends will be held after each of the ceremonies near the Student Union building. If you have questions concerning commencement, please contact the Office of the Registrar at records@csi.edu.
