CSI Receives $630K Grant to Create Postsecondary Program for Students with Intellectual Disabilities

TWIN FALLS, ID – The College of Southern Idaho has been awarded $630,000 through the Employment Capacity Leveraged through Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (ECLIPSE) grant. The three-year grant will fund development of a two-year credential pathway designed to prepare students for meaningful employment and greater independence.
This initiative will be called the EAGLE Program, an acronym for Empower Achievement, Growth, Learning, and Employment, and will be offered through the CSI College and Career Readiness department, while integrating with work-based learning opportunities across campus.
Several industry partners have committed to providing internships and work-based learning placements, including Micron Technology, Minidoka Memorial Hospital, and Riverence Holdings. The EAGLE program will expand access to higher education while strengthening the region’s workforce through a more inclusive talent pipeline.
CSI joins the Vandal QUEST program at the University of Idaho, the PEERS program at Boise State University, and the SPARC program at Lewis Clark State College to offer this opportunity to their students. With this funding, CSI becomes Idaho’s first community college to receive this grant.
