Omicron Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honored with Three Regional Awards

TWIN FALLS, ID – The College of Southern Idaho’s (CSI) Omicron Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges, has been recognized with the Honors in Action Most Distinguished Theme: Theme 4, 2nd Place College Project Award, and Distinguished Chapter Award 1st Runner Up by the Rocky Mountain Cascade Region.

The award recognizes the chapter's achievements in leadership, scholarship, and fellowship over the 2025 academic year. Omicron Xi was selected from among chapters regionally for its work on its Honors in Action research project, addressing the role of art in culture, the College Project, assisting college administration in getting information, and creating a vibrant local chapter.

"These awards demonstrate the tenacity and outstanding scholarship of our chapter. Our members represent many backgrounds, but all share a common belief that excellence pays off," said Susie Kapeleris, advisor of the Omicron Xi Chapter.

Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education, with more than 1,300 chapters located on two-year college campuses in all 50 U.S. states and around the world. Membership is by invitation and based on academic achievement, with students required to maintain a minimum grade point average.
