Flexible learning that fits your life
At the College of Southern Idaho, we know every student’s journey is unique. That’s why we offer multiple course delivery options—so you can learn in the way that works best for you. Whether you’re balancing a busy schedule, commuting from a distance, or simply prefer the convenience of learning from home, CSI gives you the flexibility to succeed.
Course Delivery Options
As a CSI student, you can choose the learning format (also known as a modality) that fits your lifestyle:
- In-Person: Attend class on campus or at one of our off-campus centers in Burley, Jerome, or Gooding.
- Online (Asynchronous): Learn on your own schedule, from anywhere, with no set class meeting times.
- Online (Synchronous): Join live classes via video conferencing (Zoom) at scheduled times.
- Hybrid: Combine online and in-person learning for the best of both worlds.
What to Know Before Taking Online Classes
When you're deciding on a course or program, we want to make sure you have everything you need to feel confident and supported. Here’s what you can expect from CSI online courses:
- Clear Expectations: Your course syllabus will explain everything upfront—including required campus visits (if any), test dates, technology needs (like a webcam or headphones), and any associated costs.
- Student Privacy & Security: You’ll log in to your courses through our secure learning system (Canvas) using your CSI credentials. This protects your information and keeps your coursework secure.
- Same Quality, Different Format: Whether online or in person, every CSI course meets the same academic standards. You’ll learn the same content and meet the same learning outcomes—just in the format that works best for you.
- CSI is Accredited: We're accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, which means our programs meet high-quality standards reviewed by experts.
