Outdoor Recreation

Outdoor Recreation Program

The CSI Outdoor Program serves to provide students, faculty & staff, and community members with adventure-based learning through outdoor and wilderness experiences. Fostering an environment of self-efficacy and interpersonal growth, each adventure seeks to create awareness for environmental stewardship, develop leaders, and promote lifetime active living. In an effort to tap into a diverse range of interests of the CSI student population and community, the CSI Outdoor Program offers a variety of activities for the first-timers to the seasoned outdoor enthusiast. Outdoor adventures include: kayaking, swimming, hiking, camping, rock climbing, backpacking, hot springing, snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, white water rafting and open events. Soon the Outdoor Program will be opening paddle boarding, mountain biking, caving, and as the program grows more will be offered.

Trips range from a few hours to weekend ventures, often sponsored co-jointly with CSI Program Board in order to make trips affordable for students.
