Basic Skills

Basic Skills classes help students

● Improve your skills in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science
● Prepare for the GED
● Prepare for college
● Polish your skills for career advancement

All classes are free of charge. Classroom and homework materials are provided.

Getting Started

  1. Schedule an Orientation to find out what can be expected from the program and what the program expects of students.*
  2. After completing an Orientation, schedule a skills assessment test – CASAS Reading, CASAS Math or both.
  3. Meet with program staff to develop an individualized schedule that meets students' needs.
*Youth under 18 must bring a parent or legal guardian to Orientation. Additional paperwork is required. A signed youth waiver available online must be submitted to CCR prior to orientation or registration.
