Workplace English

The College & Career Readiness program offers the opportunity for non-native English speakers to learn English while also working on job skills/training. Classes are held on a rotating basis.

Class examples

English for Accounting

  • For non-native English speakers already enrolled in College of Southern Idaho
  • Students receive English language support with an additional instructor in the classroom
  • Students learn relevant vocabulary and professional writing concepts
  • Regular College of Southern Idaho tuition and fees apply

English for Welding

  • For non-native English speakers already enrolled in CSI’s Welding program
  • Students receive English language support with an additional instructor in the classroom
  • Students receive additional lab time for English language practice supported by the English instructor
  • Students learn relevant vocabulary, reading skills, and exam practice
  • Regular College of Southern Idaho tuition and fees apply

Digital Literacy

  • For non-native English speaking students interested in learning basic computer concepts
  • Students receive hands-on computer practice
  • Students learn computer-related vocabulary and practical computer usage
  • Students can receive certification for each module completed
  • There is no cost for this class

Advanced Digital Literacy

  • For non-native English speaking students interested in learning advanced computer concepts
  • Students receive hands-on computer practice
  • Students learn computer-related vocabulary and practical computer usage
  • There is no cost for this class

Integrated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

  • For non-native English speaking students who are interested in becoming a Nursing Assistant
  • Students learn hands-on practical medical skills
  • Students learn relevant vocabulary, reading skills, and exam practice
  • Students receive English language support with an additional instructor in the classroom
  • Students receiving additional lab time for English language practice
  • CSI Workforce Development fees for this class apply
