College of Southern Idaho LeRoy Craig Jerome Center Construction Manager Selected

Release Date: Tuesday 2024-02-27

Jerome, ID– The College of Southern Idaho (CSI) Board of Trustees announced last week that Starr Corporation has been selected as the Construction Manager/General Contractor for the new CSI LeRoy Craig Jerome Center. This 20,000-square-foot educational facility, named in honor of former CSI Board Member and longtime Jerome resident LeRoy Craig, will bring expanded educational opportunities to Jerome residents.

"We are pleased that a contractor has been selected to build the LeRoy Craig Jerome Center," said CSI President Dean Fisher. "This puts us one step closer to breaking ground on a facility that will greatly enhance our ability to serve the residents of Jerome County."

The LeRoy Craig Jerome Center is the result of a collaborative effort between CSI, the City of Jerome, the Jerome Urban Renewal Agency, and United State Department of Agriculture, with the assistance of Congressman Mike Simpson’s Office. The facility will be located on 3rd and Lincoln in Jerome and will house educational offerings specifically designed to meet the needs of local industries.

The CSI Board also reviewed the final building plans, developed by LKV Architects, during their February 20th meeting. These plans reflect months of community input and feedback, ensuring the center will meet the specific needs of Jerome residents and businesses.

"We appreciate the valuable input from the Jerome community throughout this process," said Fisher. "Their voices have helped shape a facility that will truly serve the needs of our students and the community."

A groundbreaking ceremony for the LeRoy Craig Jerome Center is tentatively planned for June 2024, with construction expected to be completed in late 2025.
