CSI, WGU Align to Help Students Buck Alarming Trend
2024-03-19 - Though four out of five community college students across the nation say they want to earn a bachelor’s degree, only 16 percent achieve that goal within six years. In Idaho, that percentage is just 11 percent – and 10 percent among low-income learners. That’s according to complementary reports published by the Community College Research Center, Aspen Institute College Excellence Program, and National Student Clearinghouse Research Center. College of Southern Idaho (CSI) and Western Governors University (WGU) have partnered to ensure more students in the Magic Valley defy that trend and achieve their education dreams. CSI has agreed to join WGU’s Onward With Learning (OWL) transfer program. Leaders from both institutions made that announcement during a ceremony today on CSI’s Twin Falls campus. CSI is currently the only school in Idaho involved in OWL – and one of just 23 nationwide.

CSI to Receive Funding for CTE Programs

Girl Scout Cheerleader Chooses CSI After Receiving Impressive Scholarship

CSI Dean of Enrollment Services Receives Fellowship
2023-09-12 - The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) recently announced that College of Southern Idaho (CSI) Dean of Enrollment Services Monze Stark-Magana has been named as a fellow in HACU’s upcoming Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo. Stark-Magana joins 49 other fellows from across the nation who were announced on Monday, September 11, as participants in the one-year fellowship which is slated to begin in October. The Leadership Academy is designed to help fellows prepare for leadership roles in institutions of higher education, with a particular emphasis on Hispanic Serving Institutions.
Glanbia Cheese Partners With CSI's Gilbert's Pantry For Cheese Donation

Weekend Meal Delivery for Seniors to Resume Thanks to Donation from St. Luke's and SelectHealth
2023-02-02 - The College of Southern Idaho Office on Aging is excited to announce the resumption of weekend meal service for 175 seniors living in Blaine, Cassia, Gooding, Jerome, Minidoka, and Twin Fall counties. The resumption of service is thanks to a $32,760 donation from St. Luke’s and SelectHealth in support of the home-delivered meals program. The funds will be used to provide weekend meals for vulnerable seniors living in the Magic Valley.
Herrett Center for Arts and Science Announces the return of the STEAM Camp-In

CSI Participates in State-Wide Complete College America Momentum Pathways Project
2019-02-11 - Complete College America (CCA) is a nonprofit focused on helping college students complete college with credentials or a degree. CSI has participated in Complete College America and Complete College Idaho initiatives since 2012 and has crafted many successful initiatives including remediation reform, developing guided pathways, and leveraging education and training with business and industry partners. Recently, CCA created a new initiative titled Momentum Pathways Scale Project. The project focuses on boosting college attainment by developing clear pathways and implementing evidence-based strategies to help college students meet key, first-year benchmarks. Data shows that students who reach these important benchmarks are more likely to succeed.
