Release Date: Tuesday 2025-06-10

TWIN FALLS, ID – Chobani and the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) launched the Chobani Scholars program at CSI. This initiative is designed to unlock opportunity and develop local talent for Idaho’s most in-demand careers.

Designed to build futures, each year, up to ten CSI students will be selected to pursue associate degrees and technical certificates in one of the fields outlined in the Idaho LAUNCH program. Idaho LAUNCH will cover 80% of tuition and fees and Chobani will cover the remaining 20% as well as provide students an additional $1,000 per year for books, tools, and training materials.

“We are so proud to launch Chobani Scholars at CSI in partnership with Governor Little’s LAUNCH initiative and the College of Southern Idaho. It’s so meaningful to bring this program where so many Chobani employees have studied and grown,” said Hamdi Ulukaya, Founder and CEO Of Chobani. “Together we are supporting the next generation of workers, makers, and dreamers—giving them the tools to thrive, unlock their potential, and build strong futures right here in Idaho.”

The launch of the program comes at a critical moment for the region. Chobani recently announced an additional $500 million investment to expand its manufacturing plant in Twin Falls—adding capacity, new product lines, and hundreds of jobs.

“Idaho is supporting the American worker like never before. LAUNCH is all about creating opportunities for young Idahoans to stay and work in Idaho while strengthening our economy by supporting our employers with their workforce needs. We are embracing this innovative approach to workforce training, and our partnerships with the private sector are a big part of the success of LAUNCH. I appreciate Hamdi Ulukaya and his team at Chobani for stepping up in new ways to support our LAUNCH students,” Governor Little said.

Students must meet the requirements of the Idaho LAUNCH program to be eligible for the Chobani Scholars program, and must enroll in one of the following courses: Air Conditioning, Refrigeration & Heating (AAS), Automation Engineering Technology (AAS), Electronics Engineering Technician (AAS), Food Processing Technology (AAS), Industrial Systems Maintenance Technology (ITC), and Machining and Manufacturing Technology (AAS).

College of Southern Idaho President Dr. L. Dean Fisher stated, "This generous partnership with Chobani will be beneficial for students striving to get trained to enter high-demand technical fields right after high school. The Chobani Scholars at CSI program will not only alleviate financial burdens but will also provide the crucial support needed for these students to complete their education and contribute significantly to our regional workforce. We are incredibly grateful for Chobani's commitment to our students and our community."

This collaborative effort between Chobani and CSI is part of Chobani’s broader commitment to using business as a force for good and ensure that prosperity in Idaho is reinvested back into the people that are building the next generation of business.
