Dual Credit Classes

CSI's dual credit courses are college-level classes taken by high school students at their high school. The CSI Early College Handbook has all the details, but here are some things to know:

  • Dual credit courses count toward both high school graduation requirements and college degree programs. The grades and credits you earn will be recorded on both your high school and college transcripts.

  • The classes are taught by instructors who meet college-level teaching standards, ensuring a rigorous academic experience. Classes are usually held at your high school, but may also be offered online or on a CSI campus.

  • Interested students should talk to their high school counselor, and make sure that they are ready for college-level work.

  • Idaho high school students can apply for Advanded Opportunity Funding to apply toward the cost of dual credit classes. Ask your high school counselor or CSI's Early College office

** Important Certificate of Residency Note - Students who use Advanced Opportunity funds don't need to fill out the Certificate of Residency Form, but will need to accurately report the county that they live in. If a student pays for a college course via other means, (such as out of pocket and does not utilize Fast Forward) the student will be required to submit a Certificate of Residency Form to their county by the deadlines listed above.

Dual credit coursework enables high school students to make progress towards a college degree before they finish high school and save on the overall cost of a college education.
