Dual Credit

Early College Inquiry

The Early College Inquiry Form is designed to capture student interest in the Dual Credit program. Please complete this form to provide information to our Dual Credit Team.

About

Dual Credit Courses are college courses taken by a high school student for which the student earns both college and high school credit.  Dual credit coursework enables students to make progress towards a college degree before they finish high school and save on the overall cost of a college education.  Upon completion of a dual credit course, a student’s grade and credit(s) are recorded on both the high school and college transcripts.  Dual Credit coursework may take place at the high school, online, or via a broadcast system.

It is important to note that as a CSI Dual Credit college student, students have additional responsibility for their academic success and meeting the college’s dual credit deadlines.  Students participating in dual credit courses must register for their course(s) and submit their tuition payment by the college’s dual credit deadlines which generally fall near the beginning of the term.  Please be sure to check out the “Important Deadlines” box below for information regarding dual credit deadlines and registration processes.

As an indicator for student success, the CSI Early College Program highly recommends that all students participating in dual credit be at least a sophomore in high school and have an overall high school GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Important Certificate of Residency Update- Students who use Fast Forward funds no longer need to fill out the Certificate of Residency Form but will need to accurately report the county that they live in. If a student pays for a college course via other means, (such as out of pocket), the student will be required to submit a Certificate of Residency Form to their county by the deadlines listed above.

Students may drop a class and receive a tuition refund, and the course will not be recorded on the transcript, until the close of registration for that specific term.

After the drop deadline, students may withdraw until the close of business on the withdraw deadline for their specific course. A withdraw does not qualify for a tuition refund and the student would receive a “W,” indicating they did not complete the course, on their transcript. The withdraw deadline for each specific course can be found on the student’s CSI class schedule. Students can view or print their CSI schedule by logging into MyCSI, clicking on the orange “My Documents” box, and then choosing the “My Schedule” link to generate a schedule report.
