Herrett Center for Arts & Science

The Herrett Center is a non-profit museum, planetarium, and observatory. Our purpose is primarily educational, offering programs for elementary and secondary school students, CSI students, and the adult community of south-central Idaho. The Center collects, preserves, interprets, and exhibits anthropological artifacts and natural history specimens with an emphasis on the prehistoric Americas.

Catch a show at the Faulkner Planetarium, learn primitive skills like flintknapping and foraging with hands-on workshops, join us for a reptile revue, attend a star party at the Centennial Observatory, or bring the kids to science and crafting workshops — there's a lot to learn at the Herrett Center!

Adult auditing a college class

Audit College Classes

Would you like to take a CSI college course just for personal enrichment? Many courses are available for you to "audit". This means that while you are expected to attend class and regular tuition and fees apply, you will not receive a grade or college credit for the course. Courses will vary, and you may or may not be expected to complete assignments and/or take exams.

This can be a satisfying and enriching path of lifelong learning. Seniors, 60 years of age or older can contact the Office on Aging on the CSI campus for information about taking courses tuition-free.

Events at CSI

Sport events, music, theatre, discussion forums, public lectures by distinguished people... There's a lot going on at CSI!
